In a major breakthrough, the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, has arrested a prime suspect linked to the gruesome murder of Nelson Adepoyigi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 5 Chairman in Ose Local Government Area.

Amotekun Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, made this revelation on Monday, June 23, during a press briefing in Akure, where over 30 suspects were paraded for various criminal activities across the state.

“We apprehended one of the main suspects who orchestrated the killing. He led us into the bush, where incriminating evidence was recovered,” Adeleye confirmed.

Recall that Adepoyigi was abducted last month on the Ifon-Owo Road while returning from his farm, and was later murdered by his captors — a tragedy that sparked widespread outrage across Ondo’s political and local landscape.

Adeleye emphasized that this arrest signals significant progress in the ongoing investigation and reaffirms the state’s commitment to flushing out violent criminals.
