Nollywood star Afeez Owo has finally spoken about the storm that almost ended his marriage with actress Mide Martins back in 2014.
In a candid chat on Behind The List podcast, the actor revealed that the issue was minor and could have been settled privately, but once it hit social media, it blew out of proportion and nearly tore them apart.
He admitted that online pressure made the matter worse than it actually was, but thankfully, they overcame it and are stronger today
“There was a time rumours spread that my wife and I had separated. In truth, that was the first and only serious fight we’ve ever had in our marriage. Thankfully, we reconciled and came back together. I admit I didn’t handle it well,” he said.
The actor emotionally recounted how the heated misunderstanding forced him to angrily storm out of his home.
“I scattered things, and at some point, I even thought, is this how it’s going to end? Social media made it worse because it was something we should have resolved privately. Out of anger, I left and stayed in a hotel for two days, while she went online saying I had abandoned her and the kids. But by God’s grace, we overcame it.”
