The Super Eagles ended their group stage campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with an impressive 3-1 victory over Uganda on Tuesday. Nigeria had already secured a spot in the Round of 16 after consecutive wins against Tanzania and Tunisia, and they showcased their attacking prowess once again.
Paul Onuachu opened the scoring in the 28th minute, finishing from close range after a precise low cross from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. In the second half, Raphael Onyedika doubled the lead in the 62nd minute, tapping in a perfect pass from Samuel Chukwueze.
Just five minutes later, Onyedika struck again, converting another Chukwueze assist to make it 3-0. Uganda, down to ten men, pulled one back in the 75th minute through Mato, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a Nigerian win. The Super Eagles’ dominant performance highlighted their strength and readiness for the knockout stages.
