Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has expressed deep respect for women, acknowledging their vital role in his career. In an interview with Saturday Beats, he appreciated their unwavering support and influence, emphasizing their significant impact on his professional growth and success.
He said, “I don’t think I would be here without the women. That’s why I have a lot of respect for the women in my life. They have been incredibly supportive. Onyinye Udeze took a big chance on me at some point in my career. It was one of the best things that happened to me because she opened a lot of doors for me. Uduak Isong also took a chance on me.“Dabby, Blessing Egbe, there is a lady we call Lepa in the industry as well. A lot of women have been very supportive throughout my career. They are the ones who have given me platforms. That I am here today I cannot deny the fact that women have been very instrumental to my getting here.”
Uzor Arukwe attributes his versatility to constantly refining his craft by watching numerous movies. He learns from both great and poor performances, identifying what to avoid and how to improve his acting skills.
“I just try to exercise my acting muscles a lot so that I keep working my range, know my depth and just keep understanding timing, and working my brain. Because as actors we use our brains a lot. I just get more and more comfortable with the art and the craft itself.”
