Renowned Yoruba actor Ijoba Lande, whose real name is Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, has moved many with his emotional account of his failed marriage.
Known for his comedic roles in Yoruba films, he opened up about the struggles he faced with his estranged wife. In a widely shared social media video, he revealed that his wife put him through immense hardship before leaving.
He claimed she repeatedly tried to provoke him into reacting violently, but he never raised a hand against her, despite the challenges in their relationship.
He said, “Before my wife moved out of the house, she showed me hell. She would deliberately provoke me to beat her, but I never did. It is not easy for a man to beat a woman he loves. Despite everything she did to me, I didn’t want her to leave, so I endured.”
Actor Ijoba Lande revealed that financial struggles deeply affected his emotional well-being. He shared that he once earned N3 million monthly from Facebook and another N3 million from YouTube, along with income from influencer deals. However, after being demonetized, his earnings dropped significantly.
He also accused his wife of infidelity during his financial troubles, stating that while she claimed hormonal issues kept her distant from him, she was secretly involved with other men.
He furthered, “My wife, who used to tell me her hormones were not working whenever I asked for sex, was suddenly having high hormones for
or other men outside. I will always fear women.”
Ijoba Lande also accused his wife of financially exploiting him, revealing that he entrusted her with his earnings, ATM card, and savings contributions (Ajo), only for her to betray his trust and misuse the funds.
He lamented, “This is a woman I used to keep my ATM card with when I had money. She was in charge of my finances. Whenever I got my ‘ajo,’ I gave her everything. Even with the Ajo she was contributing, I was the one paying for her.”
“I’ve not had sex with my wife in 8 months. At my child naming ceremony, my wife’s male friend came. They danced together to the extent that he tapped my wife on her butt.”
“If I begin to list those who have slept with my wife in this industry, I might not make it home before they come after me, because some of them are well connected.”
