Nigerian social media users were shocked to discover that Jude Okoye, the elder brother and former manager of P-Square, is facing court charges over an alleged fraud involving N1.3 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.

This development comes amid ongoing tensions between the Okoye brothers, who have been in conflict for months and have publicly shared their disputes on social media, drawing significant public attention.

According to the Vanguard, one of the charges states:

“That you, Jude Okoye Chigozie and Northside Music Ltd, sometime in 2022 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, did directly acquire a landed property known as No 5, Tony Eromosele Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos worth ₦850,000,000.00 (Eight hundred and fifty million naira) only, which money you knew or reasonably ought to have known forms part of proceeds of unlawful acts, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 18 (2)(d) and punishable under Section 18 (3) of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.”

Another accusation claims that in 2022, Okoye and his company used a currency exchange to change $1,019,762.87 from an Access Bank account linked to Northside Music Ltd into naira. They then moved the money into different bank accounts to hide where it came from.

Daddy Freeze advised P-Square to handle their family matters privately, emphasizing that many people face family issues but choose to keep them off social media.

He suggested that resolving conflicts behind closed doors would be more beneficial than publicizing them online.
