The court has ruled that Nigerian singer Naira Marley, born Abdulazeez Fashola, and his associate Sam Larry, also known as Samson Balogun Eletu, are not guilty in the case of Mohbad’s death.

They were initially suspected alongside Mohbad’s childhood friend, Owodunni Ibrahim, known as Primeboy.

However, following legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje declared that Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy would not face any charges.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27.

Despite clearing the trio, the court will continue legal proceedings against nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq, for recklessness and negligence under Section 251 (e) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
