The family of 13-year-old Nnamdi Glenn Ohaeri Jr. in Southern California is mourning his tragic death, which they believe resulted from attempting a dangerous social media challenge.

He was found unresponsive in his bedroom on February 3, a day after watching the Grammy Awards with his family. Despite his mother’s CPR efforts and emergency assistance, he was pronounced dead.

Initially suspected as a suicide, his parents later discovered he might have been influenced by a hazardous trend similar to the “Blackout Challenge.” Lacking social media accounts, they suspect he learned about it from peers.

The grieving family now urges parents to educate children on the hidden dangers of social media and peer pressure. Authorities have yet to determine the official cause of death.
