Team USA won the silver medal in mixed doubles curling at the Iciness Olympics. It was the primary time an American team has ever earned a medal in that match. Mixed doubles features teams of moral two other folk, a man and a woman. One the players from Team Korey and Cory, is from Massachusetts.
“It’s good to place the U.S. on the map when it comes to mixed doubles curling,” Korey Dropkin said. “I worked my butt off. Each Cory and I did. At the slay of the day there may be a shot or two I’d treasure back nonetheless also at the slay of the day, we’re so proud to convey this man home. Fairly large accomplishments for us, our families, our neighborhood and country.”

Dropkin went to Southborough Excessive College and learned the way to play the sport at Broomstones Curling Club in Wayland. He went to high college in Duluth, Minnesota. He stayed to focal level on curling ever since. Northern Minnesota is legendary for some of our country’s most efficient curlers.
Dropkin went via heartbreak before earning the silver in February. He led two teams to the finals of the U.S. Curling Trials in 2018 and 2022. The winner of that tournament earns the title of Team USA at the Iciness Olympics. Twice, he was moral one accept away from earning a time out to curling’s largest stage. However Dropkin’s teams came up moral short each time.
“There was a lot of heartbreak and a lot of low moments mentality I had to break via stand up and transfer forward and consume these moments of fight as gasoline for the hearth,” Dropkin said.
Dropkin said winning silver was rewarding. It was proof that his hard work over the past several years paid off.

While he was grateful to acquire second, he said there have been some photographs on the ice he’d treasure to have back. He’s adding the misses to his checklist as motivation to get back to the Olympics in 2030.
“It’s a dream come honest. We’re going to strive and make another escape right here in the next four years,” he said.
While Minnesota has been home since college, Dropkin continues to be a spacious Boston sports activities fan. He said he was wearing his Patriots jersey in the Olympic Village on the evening of the Great Bowl.
