Nigerian comedy legend Klint Da Drunk has stirred major reactions online after revealing that 2Face Idibia (now 2Baba) was the reason he ditched his early dreams of becoming a musician.
In a fresh chat with Naija FM Lagos, Klint shared that he was fully invested in music during his days at IMT Enugu—until one unforgettable moment changed everything.
According to him, the day 2Baba performed on campus, he knew instantly that music wasn’t his lane because the superstar’s talent was simply too extraordinary. That single performance pushed him to embrace comedy completely—and the rest is history.
“I used to be a musician until 2Face got admitted to my school, IMT. One day when he got on stage to perform at an event on campus, I left the hall. The organisers pleaded with me to stay back and perform when he is done,” he recalled.
Klint Da Drunk said 2Face’s exceptional talent was so overwhelming and intimidating that it pushed him to abandon music entirely.
“I accepted but after hearing him sing just two lines, I went home. I didn’t know that my style and 2Face’s style were different. If I had known, I would continue making music. But thank God I didn’t continue. I like where I am.”
Klint Da Drunk, who once co-founded a music group that placed second in the 2002 Star Quest talent show, later chose to focus fully on comedy— a decision he says he has never regretted.
