Immediate past Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, has dismissed viral reports claiming he resigned from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet due to alleged cooperation between Nigeria and the Donald Trump administration over accusations of genocide against Christians.

In a strongly worded statement titled “Categorical Denial Of Malicious Publication Regarding My Resignation As Minister of Defence,” Badaru described the circulating report as false, fabricated, and deliberately crafted to cause division.

He said he never made any statement suggesting he resigned to avoid watching “the US and Tinubu government bombing our brothers in the forest,” insisting the quote was completely invented by mischief makers.

According to him, the publication aims to damage his reputation and create unnecessary tension between him and President Tinubu.

Badaru emphasized that the genuine reasons for his resignation were formally communicated to the President and announced through official channels.

He reiterated his loyalty to Tinubu, the APC, and the Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring Nigerians of his continued commitment to the nation’s peace, security, and political stability as the 2027 elections approach.
