Afrobeats singer Ruger recently took a subtle jab at the Headies Awards in a post on his X account.
His comments came after the release of the 17th Headies Awards nominees list, which sparked controversy due to notable omissions. With a sarcastic tone, Ruger called the Headies the “most credible award event in the whole world.”
He also thanked the organizers for recognizing “ALL ARTISTS and ALL PROJECTS” before mockingly predicting that the Headies would soon surpass all global awards.
“Shoutout to the most credible award event in the whole world THE HEADIES. Thank you for recognising the hard work of ALL ARTISTS and ALL PROJECTS. Very soon, you will be bigger than all the awards in the whole world. Amen,” he wrote.
