A Nigerian cinematographer, Jude Eze, has publicly criticized actress Regina Daniels after she begged Nigerians to sign a petition for her brother’s release. Regina’s brother was reportedly arrested on the orders of her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, sparking outrage online.

Reacting to her plea, Jude Eze reminded Nigerians of the 2020 EndSARS protests, during which Regina allegedly mocked those who took to the streets to speak out against police brutality. He shared a screenshot of her old post from October 20, 2020, the same day innocent protesters were shot at the Lekki Toll Gate, accusing her of being insensitive.

Eze wrote that Regina once looked down on ordinary Nigerians fighting for justice, believing she was “above their struggles” because of her elite status. Now, he says, she’s facing the same system she once ignored.
He concluded his post with a striking statement:
“Today, the dysfunction of Nigeria has caught up with her. Poetic justice, innit?”
