Cameroon international goalkeeper André Onana has completed a surprise switch from Manchester United to Turkish giants Trabzonspor on a season-long loan.

The 29-year-old, who only joined United last year, found himself slipping down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of Belgian youngster Senne Lammens.

Trabzonspor officially announced the deal, confirming that Onana will remain with the club until June 30, 2026, with no loan fee involved and no option for a permanent transfer. Interestingly, the move comes at a huge personal gain for the shot-stopper.

According to the Daily Mail, Onana’s earnings will almost double thanks to a lucrative signing bonus and additional performance-related incentives included in the agreement.

While Manchester United won’t benefit financially from the deal, the transfer offers Onana a fresh opportunity to revive his career in Turkey after enduring a turbulent spell in England. Fans are eager to see whether the Cameroonian star can rediscover his best form and make a strong impact in the Turkish Super Lig.
