Massive protest rocks Auchi as VDM and students block Dangote trucks over deadly accidents

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has once again taken his activism to the streets as he led a heated protest in Auchi, Edo State, on Monday. The protest, which drew massive attention, saw VDM and students of Auchi Polytechnic blocking Dangote trucks from operating within the area until the company addresses the plights of accident victims caused by its vehicles.

The demonstration was triggered by the heartbreaking case of Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of BBNaija winner Phyna, who recently had her leg amputated after a Dangote truck crushed her shortly after her graduation. VDM, addressing the protesting crowd, firmly demanded that the company must not only cover Ruth’s medical expenses but also compensate every other victim of similar avoidable tragedies.

Adding to the outrage was another devastating crash that occurred just a day earlier in Auchi, where a Dangote truck collided with another vehicle near Omega Fire Ministry, killing three people instantly. Reacting to the tragedy, Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, condemned the recklessness, calling it an “avoidable loss of precious lives.”

VDM, visibly angered, declared that Dangote trucks will no longer be allowed on Auchi roads until justice is served and adequate compensation is given to all victims.
