The naira has continued its steady climb against the US dollar in the official foreign exchange market, according to the latest Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data for Thursday, August 14.
The currency closed at ₦1,534.52/$1, slightly stronger than the previous day’s ₦1,534.83, marking a marginal daily gain.
In the black market, the naira held firm at ₦1,565/$1, maintaining the same rate as the day before. This follows a week of consistent gains across both official and parallel markets.
The CBN has once again urged Nigerians to respect the currency by avoiding spraying, hawking, mutilating, or counterfeiting naira notes.
