Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is fighting back as he pushes to have his two prostitution-related convictions under the federal Mann Act overturned. His legal team is requesting an outright acquittal, claiming he never made money from prostitution, never had sex with escorts, and didn’t arrange their travel — all key elements required for a Mann Act conviction.
According to court filings, Diddy’s involvement was strictly voyeuristic, with witnesses confirming he only observed or filmed the sexual activities between consenting adults. His lawyers argue that paying to watch others have sex is not considered prostitution under state law and should be protected under the First Amendment as amateur adult content.
The defense also insists the controversial video of Diddy assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura shouldn’t have been admitted, noting he was cleared of the related sex trafficking and RICO charges. If the judge denies the acquittal, they will seek a new trial limited to just the Mann Act evidence.
Meanwhile, buzz is growing around reports that former President Donald Trump is “seriously considering” a pardon for the embattled rapper ahead of his October 3 sentencing, where Diddy faces up to 10 years behind bars.
