Big Changes for Immigrants in the U.S.! USCIS Introduces New & Higher Fees Starting July 22, 2025

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has rolled out major fee increases for several immigration-related applications under the H.R. 1 Reconciliation Bill—and it’s got everyone talking!

Effective July 22, 2025, all applications must include the new fees or they’ll be rejected from August 21 onward. Among the most controversial changes is a new $100 fee for asylum applications (Form I-589), along with an Annual Asylum Fee (AAF) of $100 every year until a decision is made.

Also affected:
🔹 Form I-765 (Work Permits): Initial EADs now cost $550, renewals and re-parole filings are $275 each.
🔹 Form I-360 (Special Immigrant Juvenile): New $250 fee
🔹 Form I-821 (TPS Application): Hiked from $50 to $500 – a 10x increase!

Even more shocking? These new fees are non-waivable, regardless of hardship or fee waiver eligibility. USCIS says they’re required by statute.

Validity periods have also changed. EADs for parolees and TPS beneficiaries will be valid for one year max, or until the parole/TPS expires.

More fee adjustments are coming soon for other immigration forms.

📌 If you’re applying or renewing soon, make sure you’re updated—this affects thousands!
