Edo State is currently on fire with political tension as Governor Monday Okpebholo boldly warned Labour Party’s Peter Obi not to step foot in the state without his permission!
This shocking declaration came during a massive defection rally in Uromi, where Marcus Onobun, the only PDP Rep in the House, officially dumped PDP for APC on July 18, 2025.
Okpebholo didn’t mince words as he addressed a cheering crowd, referencing Obi’s recent N15 million donation to a Benin nursing school. “The man wey say he no get shishi, where he see N15 million give people?” he mocked. He blamed Obi’s visit for unrest in Benin, saying “three people died” afterwards and warned: “Whatever happens to him in Edo, he will take it!”
In the viral 57-second clip, the Governor declared himself “the new sheriff in town”, saying Obi’s security can’t be guaranteed if he visits uninvited.
Governor Okpebholo also bragged about APC’s grip on Edo, boasting of guaranteed 2.5 million votes for President Tinubu in 2027 and promising to completely wipe out the PDP.
