Former Minister of Women Affairs and PDP stalwart, Josephine Anenih, has thrown shade at Atiku Abubakar, saying the ex-Vice President abandoned the party right after losing the 2023 elections — long before his formal resignation dated July 14, 2025.
Speaking during a fiery interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Anenih didn’t hold back. She claimed Atiku ghosted the party, stopped showing up at meetings, and ignored efforts to engage him, despite repeated appeals from key stakeholders — including the women of the PDP Board of Trustees.
“We told him the party was drifting and looked up to him as our baba. But he didn’t step up,” she said. Instead, Atiku cited “irreconcilable differences” in his resignation letter, claiming the PDP has strayed from its founding values.
But Anenih isn’t fazed. “PDP was built by grassroots people like us in 1998 — not big names,” she declared boldly. “As Chief Bode George said: anyone can come and go, but PDP will not die on our watch.”
Her passionate words have since lit up the political space online, fueling talk about party loyalty, leadership, and the PDP’s future.
