Nigeria mourns as the remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari will be laid to rest today, July 14, in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in line with Islamic burial rites. Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, at 4:30 PM in a London clinic, where he was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness.
President Bola Tinubu has sent Vice President Kashim Shettima to London to accompany the late leader’s body back to Nigeria. The former president’s remains are expected to arrive early Monday and will be immediately flown to Daura for burial.
