Owodunni Ibrahim, better known as Primeboy and a close friend of late singer Mohbad, has finally broken his silence, setting the record straight on the tragic events surrounding the singer’s death. In a heartfelt interview with activist VeryDarkMan, Primeboy firmly denied any involvement and shared emotional details about their last encounter.
Recalling their final outing, Primeboy said Mohbad seemed eager to leave the venue after his performance but insisted on stepping out of the car to meet some area boys. Primeboy claimed he tried to stop him and even asked Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, to intervene. “I never touched or hit Mohbad. There was no fight, no glass injury like people are claiming,” he stated.
He explained that Mohbad got upset with him for interfering in a personal matter between him and his wife and asked him to leave the car. Primeboy apologized and walked away — only to wake up days later to the shocking news of his friend’s death. “I called his dad immediately. He said he was on his way to the house. I was confused and heartbroken,” he revealed.
Expressing frustration, Primeboy said it was unfair for the authorities to declare him wanted without prior invitation. “Even in the cell, police officers told me they didn’t believe I had anything to do with his death,” he added.
Now battling emotional trauma and public backlash, Primeboy says all he did was try to help a friend during a tense moment — and being wrongly blamed has left deep scars.
