Veteran Nollywood icon Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, has made headlines after revealing that he has no intention of leaving behind houses or properties for his children. In a candid interview with Nigerian Tribune, the legendary actor explained that education — not material wealth is the greatest inheritance a parent can offer.

A proud father of 18 and husband to two wives, Oga Bello said he made a deliberate choice early on to channel his energy and resources into educating his children. “All I need is two houses — one in Lagos and one in my hometown. If there’s money in my account when I die, they can share it. But my legacy is education,” he stated.

Despite his own struggles with education due to a lack of parental support, he made it a life mission to ensure every one of his children — including actor Femi Adebayo — earned at least a first degree. He added that none of his kids were forced into acting; instead, they had to prove themselves in school first.

Speaking on ageing, Oga Bello shared a profound truth: “Old age is personal. I invested in my children. In return, they’ll take care of me.”
