Controversial social media activist, Verydarkman (VDM), has once again ignited public debate after calling out Benue State in a viral video that’s shaking up the internet.
Following a visit to the troubled community of Yelwata, the outspoken influencer described Benue as the most underdeveloped place he has ever encountered, saying it felt like “Nigeria in the 1940s.”
According to VDM, his bold statement is based on real-life experience. He had traveled to Yelwata to drill a borehole for the people, but the project was abruptly paused due to the worsening security crisis in the region. “The people can’t continue the work because they’re afraid of being killed,” he lamented.
He didn’t hold back on highlighting the state’s poor road infrastructure, widespread insecurity, and lack of investment, stating that these factors are keeping Benue trapped in poverty and stagnation. His words have sparked massive reactions online some praising his honesty, others slamming him for being too harsh.
