Lead pastor of Fountain of Life Church and Nollywood actor, Jimmy Odukoya, has joined the growing chorus of outrage over the horrifying massacre in Yelewata, Guma LGA of Benue State, where over 200 innocent people, including women and children, were brutally murdered.
Taking to Instagram, Odukoya didn’t hold back. In a gut-wrenching post, he described the killings as “pure evil” and declared it a genocide, not just another casualty of conflict.
“My heart bleeds over the genocide happening in Benue. The blood of the innocent cries loud for justice from the earth! Body parts and bones litter the ground and tell a harrowing story of wickedness,” he wrote.
The outspoken pastor also called out the Nigerian government, urging leaders to rise up and protect the people from “men who have no regard for the sanctity of human life.”
The heartbreaking incident has drawn the attention of several Nigerian celebrities including Mr Macaroni, Tacha, and 2Baba, who have taken to social media to demand immediate justice.
Following mounting pressure, President Bola Tinubu is reportedly planning a visit to the state.
