Nigerian singer Portable recorded a track targeting Asake after his loss at the 67th Grammy Awards.

On February 2, 2025, Tems won Best African Music Performance, beating Asake, Davido, Yemi Alade, and Burna Boy.

Portable criticized Davido and Asake for losing to a female artist and mocked Asake’s camouflage Grammy outfit, calling himself the “top artist” and comparing himself to Lil Wayne.

The diss song lyrics reads, “No be end of world. It is just a Grammy. My glory go kill my enemies. Grammy ti wa taja teran. Your papa no be army. O lo wosho army. You wan collect Grammy Your papa no be army. O lo wosho army. Ofe fi gba Grammy and your papa no be army. Better go join academy Mr Money. E mi mon reign E oni brain. Mofu jo Lil Wayne.”

Portable’s recent criticism of Asake isn’t their first clash. In January, Portable advised fans against comparing them after Asake unveiled his new look, featuring shorter hair and facial tattoos. Their ongoing tension continues to draw public attention.
