The Nigerian entertainment scene is buzzing with controversy as veteran rapper Ruggedman (Michael Ugochukwu Stephens), alongside music legends Sunny Neji, Zakky Azzay, Boniface Itodo, and Raymond Lasisi, have reportedly been arrested for allegedly breaking into the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) secretariat in Lekki, Lagos.
According to sources, the incident, which first occurred in August 2024 while PMAN President Pretty Okafor was abroad, involved the alleged theft of $130,000 and two MacBook Pro laptops. Despite previous warnings from authorities, the group—believed to be suspended or expelled members—allegedly stormed the office again on May 8, 2025, in an attempt to take control.
PMAN has clarified that the issue is not internal politics but a criminal matter, and insists investigations are complete with prosecution to follow. So far, none of the accused artists have issued a public statement.
This unfolding drama has sparked heated debates online, with fans demanding transparency and accountability.
