Popular Nigerian gospel artist Kenny Saint Brown (KSB) has sparked emotional reactions online after sharing a deep spiritual reflection about the tragic passing of legendary rapper Dagrin. Speaking on a recent episode of the Hoha Podcast, KSB opened up about the chilling realization she had after Dagrin’s death, tying it back to the lyrics he delivered in their 2010 gospel track Turn Me Around.
According to KSB, while the late rapper’s verse powerfully requested fame, money, and luxury — including the now-iconic line, “Mo fe ma gun Bentley” — there was no mention of long life or divine protection. She said she took the pain to God in prayer, only to be told to listen carefully to what Dagrin had actually asked for in the song.
“When Dagrin passed, I was heartbroken,” she said. “But God told me, ‘Listen to his verse.’ He asked for fame, recognition, and material things… not long life. And God gave him exactly what he prayed for.”
Dagrin tragically died on April 22, 2010, after a fatal car accident near Mushin, Lagos. His death at the peak of his career shocked the nation and left a permanent mark on the Nigerian music scene.
Today, Dagrin is remembered not just for his raw lyrical genius and influence on indigenous rap, but also for the painful reminder of the power of words and prayer.
