Popular Nigerian travel content creator Tayo Aina has warmed hearts online with a touching story about a selfless gesture from Afrobeat megastar Davido during a recent trip to Botswana.

Sharing the emotional moment on X (formerly Twitter), Tayo revealed that he was in Botswana for a project shoot and found himself stranded after the job. As he waited for a ride, Davido and his entire 30BG crew boarded a fully packed bus. Seeing no available space, Tayo opted to order an Uber—until something surprising happened.

Just as he was about to leave, Davido called out to him, asking him to join the bus. The award-winning singer even asked his team to make space—despite the obvious inconvenience—just so Tayo wouldn’t be left behind. The gesture, though small to some, left a huge impact on the content creator.

Tayo praised Davido for his humility, kindness, and down-to-earth nature, calling it a moment he’ll never forget. Fans are now hailing Davido not just as a music legend, but also as a man of the people who never forgets his roots.

His account read …

“I have never shared this anywhere before but the first time I met Davido really gave me an understanding of the meaning of Humility.

We were in the sprinter bus in Botswana about to head back to the hotel after filming,

but there was no space as it was filled up with him and the crew.

I was outside on the road tryna order an uber cause I hadn’t even planned on riding with them in the first place.

Door of the bus was closed and the driver was about zooming off.

Can you guys believe that David told the driver to stop, said the crew should open the door and told everybody to shift for me. Lol. Like 30Bg crew should shift for me.

That shit really busted my head. I ended up squeezing in between two of the crew members which made it more inconvenient for them for as the bus was already full.

He probably doesn’t even remember this but it left a very strong impression on me cause if na normal guys sef, they would leave me to go and find uber, talk less of a Superstar.

This was one of the purest acts of humility I have ever experienced from anybody across my travels, inconveniencing yourself just to make someone else not feel left out.

It’s easy to be humble when you have nothing, much harder when you have everything.

That’s the kind of guy David is, someone who is willing to carry everyone along. Shoutout to him! 🙌🏽”
