Controversial Nigerian preacher and social media personality, Oba Solomon, has finally broken his silence over the ongoing detention of outspoken activist VeryDarkMan (VDM). In a recently shared video, the cleric explained why he has not joined the growing number of voices demanding VDM’s immediate release.

According to Oba Solomon, he is intentionally holding back judgment until the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) releases an official statement detailing the reason behind VeryDarkMan’s arrest. The social commentator was taken into custody last Friday after visiting a GTBank branch with his mother to protest an alleged unauthorized deduction from her account.

“I can’t tell the government to release him without knowing his offense. Nobody is above the law,” Oba Solomon stated, urging Nigerians to stay calm and avoid jumping to conclusions, especially in blaming GTBank for the situation.

He encouraged the public to wait until Monday for the EFCC’s explanation, adding with his signature blend of wit and satire, “If they don’t tell us by then, we’ll know how to ‘swear for them.’”

Emphasizing that due process must be followed, Oba Solomon acknowledged the government’s right to arrest anyone but insisted that more transparency is needed. His call for patience and clarity serves as a reminder of the importance of verified facts before reacting to emotionally charged events involving public figures.
