Burna Boy is now facing serious legal heat in the U.S. over alleged song theft, and it’s getting messier than we expected!
Renowned Haitian musician Fabrice Rouzier has dragged both Burna and French-Haitian artist Joe Dwet File to court for allegedly copying elements of his 2002 classic “Je Vais” in their collab “4 Kampe II.”
According to the lawsuit filed in New York, Rouzier says even the original “4 Kampe” dropped in late 2024 was already violating his copyright—and he reportedly sent a cease-and-desist letter that Joe Dwet File allegedly acknowledged.
But instead of pulling the song, they went ahead to drop a remix featuring Burna Boy on March 28, 2025. Talk about adding fuel to fire!
Rouzier isn’t joking—he’s asking the court to stop the use of the song entirely, destroy all copies, and ban the use of his name, likeness, or anything related. He also wants compensatory and punitive damages plus full legal fee coverage.
As at now, both Burna Boy and Joe Dwet File have stayed silent. But this gist is hotter than lava.
