Things got even messier when she also revealed she wouldnât be attending Trumpâs second inauguration. đŹđ But during her candid chat on Sophia Bushâs âWork in Progressâ podcast, Michelle addressed it all â shutting down the gossip and setting the record straight.
âThe interesting thing is that, when I say âno,â for the most part people are like, âI get it, and Iâm OK,ââ she said.
âThatâs the thing that we as women, I think we struggle with disappointing people. I mean, so much so that this year people couldnât even fathom that I was making a choice for myself that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing.â
âThis couldnât be a grown woman just making a set of decisions for herself, right?â she added. âBut thatâs what society does to us. We start actually, finally going, âWhat am I doing? Who am I doing this for?â And if it doesnât fit into the sort of stereotype of what people think we should do, then it gets labeled as something negative and horrible.â
